Photos of bloody animals killed by hunters belong on a special page, not the home page

Boy, do emotions run high when the subject of hunting comes up in St. Lawrence County.

More than 180 viewers voiced their opinions in the past 24 hours as to whether it is appropriate to display photos of dead animals killed by hunters on the home page of NorthCountryNow.com.

A photo of a bear shot with a bow-and-arrow in South Colton that was featured Thursday prompted the debate. It was shown partially gutted, hanging from a rafter with bloody areas visible.

By early afternoon, three viewers told us they were revolted by the image, and at least one vowed to remove NorthCountryNow.com as their home page.

So we decided to ask more viewers for their opinions. That blog and the viewer comments appear here.

The results?

Based on a quick tally of comments posted by viewers:

-- Approximately 54 percent of viewers approved of the photo, feeling it reflects life in the North Country. Some said they would like to see other photos of hunters’ “trophies.”

-- About 34 percent were repulsed by the sight of a dead, bloody animal, and felt offended at being forced to look at the image without warning when visiting NorthCountryNow.com for the first time in the day. Several people were concerned such photos could startle or scare children.

-- Another 12 percent offered a “middle ground” suggestion. They recommended posting hunting and fishing photos on a special page instead of on the home page.

We like that idea.

It’s clear many North Country residents enjoy and advocate hunting. At the same time, a large number of people in St. Lawrence County find the sport revolting and tasteless.

We agree that the many who are offended by hunting should not be forced to look at a bloody animal when first logging on to the internet.

We'll still run occasional photos submitted by proud hunters and fishermen and women on the home page, but will be more sensitive in selecting the pictures that will appear for all to see.

Our hope is that NorthCountryNow.com can serve all factions of the population in St. Lawrence County, regardless of their views on particular issues.

With that in mind, we will be developing a special page for viewer-submitted hunting and fishing photos for the slight majority of viewers who would enjoy such a feature. We expect it will be operational by Thanksgiving weekend. We wish the page could be ready sooner than that, but our web site developer is tied up with other projects that must be completed first.

In the meantime, those who would like to submit photos to be considered for posting on that page are welcome to send them to webmaster@NorthCountryNow.com. Remember to include the name(s) of people in the photo, location, date the picture was taken and any other pertinent details.

Thank you to all who submitted their views on the subject.

I think it important to point out that the animal in the photo was NOT "partially gutted"; actually there was only a small portion of the body cavity showing. The animal looked to be "properly field dressed". Which is a less offesive term to use when shaping others opinions.
BTW, by Thanksgiving the hunting season will be 90% finished. So once again those in the minority that think because they are offended, everyone should feel that way, win again.
The wussification of America continues as we continue to be OVERLY PC on every issue.

Thank you far left, socialist, liberal wack jobs!

I sure hope we don't have to resort back to caveman days. No one will know how to survive. If you are offended by this photo or something you might find in the National Geographic go get some therapy. Hunting has been and will always be a part of our civilization. Hopefully this bureaucratic and idealistic society we live in can wake up in reality for once. How about tackeling a real problem folks? (e.g. education, social security, healthcare, inflation... etc.)

Those who were offended by the bear picture should probably stay away from SuperMarkets and Butcher shops, to say nothing of fish stores. In these places, body parts, offal, dripping blood and the like are proudly displayed in full view of any passerby.

And for that matter, these wussies might just as well stay off the road during hunting season, when dead animals are, again, openly and proudly displayed on vehicles. And then there is, (HORRORS!), the road kill. Road kill, now in full swing, is of course, exacerbated by an overabundance of wild animals, thanks to the efforts of the aforementioned wussies.

I sorry but I feel this needs to be said. Some of us are Vets who have fought, shed blood and have died to keep this country free and a democracy which last time I checked meant a MAJORITY is supposed to win NOT a minority! It absolutely sickens me to see yet again a few whiners get there way continueing the downward spiral of our once great country! It is a travesty as bad as someone spitting on a soldier returning home! Our forefathers must be turning over in there graves.I am definitely taking NCN off as my home page and will never bye it again and will encourage everyone I know and meet to do the same. This offends me in the worst possible way when this happens.I hope you few low lifes are happy now that you got your way!

North County Now Keep up the great work. No one could ask for any beter coverage, and you DO CARE for your readers.
THANKS

Let me see, because I don't hunt and feel that pictures of killed animals whether they are gutted or "field dressed" (who cares)should be placed in an area where a person can willingly go see them on the internet, I am a "wack job, a low life, a wussie, need therapy, and a whiner". Who is really crying here? North Country Now has attempted to find a middle ground for all. I guess shame on them. By the way, I was one of the 12% who suggested a seperate site. Want to shoot me? I'm an American too. Have a nice day.

As one who would be considered a " liberal," let me say I was not offended by the photo at all.
I am disappointed with the decision NCN has made. It is a form of censorship and I resent it. To those who would hide behind children in their responses-shame on you.
Where does it stop? No photos of "gays?" and on and on because it might offend the sensibilities of some?
If you are not mature enough to use and deal with internet sites like NCN, then don't go there.
Very sad indeed. It is the type of response to an issue I would expect from "wacko right wing nut jobs"...

NORTH COUNTRY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU JUST LET THEM WIN AGAIN. BY MAKING A PAGE JUST FOR HUNTERS IMAGES YOU IN FACT LET THEM WIN. I AM REPULSED EVERYTIME I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT ORGANIC FOOD, VEGETARIANS, LIBERAL IDEAS, ETC, BUT I DON'T ASK YOU TO START A NEW SITE JUST FOR THOSE LIBERAL IDEAS. HUNTERS ARE ONCE AGAIN THE ONES WHO ARE GOING TO LOSE OUT ON THIS ONE, THERE ARE MANY IMAGES OF TROPHIES THAT HAVE NO BLOOD IN THEM AS WELL. HOW ABOUT NORTH COUNTRY YOU GET A "SET" AND TELL THEM YOU ARE "NOT CHANGING THE PICTURE OR WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED"

Anonymous said...

This decision is not censorship. They're not saying they won't post pictures of dead animals; they're making an entirely new section on the website for them. If they refused to post them anywhere, I'd understand the accusation.

I think they've made a wonderful compromise and don't think anyone is losing out. In fact, the hunters are winning additional space in cyberland, space they didn't have before ... good for them! Thank you again NCN for making a "middle-ground" decision. I personally appreciate it!

Anonymous said...

Hunting does not offend me, in fact I think it is necessary. I was, however, not expecting the photo when I opened the homepage yesterday morning and honestly I was grossed out by the graphicness of the picture. My solution was not to return the homepage until today when I knew it wouldn't be there!
I like the idea of having a hunting page so that those who are interested can view the trophies and/or congratulate other fellow hunters. Hunters are probably desensitized from what some of us might consider offensive because of their perspective and experience. Rightly so. Simply stated, it shocked me. Big deal. I'm not a wussy - I am a woman who enjoys watching the wildlife in the North Country at it's best = alive! I avoid the meat counter because I am a vegetarian. I look the other way if I see road kill. Just like I did yesterday when I saw the bloody bear. Hunting is fine with me (and would be more impressive if hunters used their bare hands instead of weapons from a safe distance). But whatever - animals get killed all the time just not by my hand. I can view and appreciate the photos of trophies based on the sport of it - when I'm prepared for it!

How is an organic food article repulsive?

Anonymous said...

When you are sent to another page and can't get on the front page like anything else IT IS a form of censorship sorry! As for the "have a nice day" comment GROW UP!

Anonymous said...

It is censorship in its cruelest form. It is the same argument that was made concerning integration years ago. You are applauding segregation. You can ride the bus, just go to the back and sit down.
The same principal has been applied to resolve this...There is no difference. Compromise is never a solution when personal freedom/choice issues are the question. Something is lost, and it is not a good thing.

Anonymous said...

why do the hunters always get the raw end of the deal...go to the walmart check out there meat section there blood oozing everywheres and dont even say u dont go to walmart everyone goes there..grow up you ignorant people and go find something else to complain about..you see that kind of stuff daily..

I think it is a good compromise to give the hunters their own space to show their kills, particularly when the kills will be eaten, which shows respect to the animals that they have killed. I think many hunters feel this way too. Every time we all eat a steak, we help kill an animal. The killing for eating is not the problem here, it is the way of nature. We too will be consumed some day. I also understand that the lost art of hunting is a great and noble skill, and if done with respect to the animal, one should be proud to bring natural meat to his family's table, as this man and his admiring daughter are as I now understand it. Let them be proud of this kill and let them share their photos with others who want to see the kill for what ever reason. Having their own hunter's page will give other hunters more opportunity to show their kills as well and will also respect the folks like myself who aren't particularly interested in seeing them--slaughtered cows from the butcher shop or hunted and killed animals from the wild. Why can this not work for everybody, "hippie" and hunter a like.

I applaud NC Now for it's intelligent solution to this issue.

You live in the North Country, get used to it. Hunting is a part of our culture if you don't like it, move.

Censorship, segregation .. these are big and powerful words to use about a picture of a dead bear. Really? This county segregates and ostricizes people every day (I know - I'm one of "them"). Many of the comments made about "hippies", "go back to the city", "wing jobs", "whakos", etc -those are segregating comments. Moving pictures of dead animals to another section of a newspaper is not segregation and its not censorship. This isn't telling a person of color to go to the back of the bus or creating restaurants for Whites and others for Blacks. This is about pictures of dead animals. Seriously, where in the constitution does it say we must put pictures of dead animals on the front page of the newspaper? I must have missed that Article when I read the constitution or missed that part when learning about the civil rights movement. Talk about over-reacting!! Segregation - to use that word about a picture of a dead bear is a slap in the face to all those who lived through slavery and are still fighting racism today.

Anonymous said...

Yup, the vocal minority wins again.

THREE people felt strongly enough to write to North Country Now. *THREE*

Out of how many page views since that went up? I'd love to know THAT number.

Then we get the comments on the blog, again, those 34 percent are the whiners. The ones with a chip on their shoulder for anything they don't like and the desire to make everyone not have it.

The majority are the posters that cared enough to stand up and say this is silly. How many others viewed the page and just were not bothered by it and moved on? I bet that majority percentage is way higher.

I agree with the Veteran who notes the downward spiral of our country because of these people. Bravo, sir and thank you for fighting for what little freedom we have left!

Anonymous said...

WOW Some people are wonderful, truthfully. Most of the people that we're complaining yesterday about the photo of the dead bear, we're saying create a hyper link or a special page where these photo's can be posted so that not everyone can see them, but the people who still want to see them can. Now everyone is saying that NCN gave in to these people!!!!!!!! Come on now people give it a break, either have it one way or have it the other, you can't have it both way's. As i have said in previous post's. I am not a hunter and do not enjoy the sport, but there is no reason this guy shouldn't have been proud of his kill.

NCN good job on the decision i respect it fully. And appreciate the decision, as i am one of those people who do not want to see these photo's. I totally agree with the hunter's having a section where they can show their photo's of their kill's and be proud of them!

Chemtrails Kill said...

I think today's photo of chemtrails in the sky is more alarming than a north country hunter with a trophy bear taken with a bow! The "poor defenseless bear" is a very adept creature at avoiding hunters. No one can avoid the poison being sprayed in the atmosphere.

"I must have missed that Article when I read the constitution or missed that part when learning about the civil rights movement."
Anon.

LOL. I doubt you ever read it, and most certainly never read the "Federalist Papers," name given in the 20th Century for the original " The Federalist." You may want to try it someday as it is the primary source for interpreting the U.S. Constitution. Articles written by Hamilton, Madison and John Jay.
Regardless, because the decision is one you agree with on a personal level, that does not make it right. Someday you may learn to understand the difference and appreciate it.
Those who, despite their personal feelings, would not deny the occasional photo of a hunter and his prey to grace the front page of NCN are the ones who hold the high ground in all of this.
And that ,my friend , is really the story.
I give you the definition(s) for the word TOLERANCE. For your consideration.
TOLERANCE
1. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.
2. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own.
3. interest in and concern for ideas, opinions, practices, etc., foreign to one's own; a liberal, undogmatic viewpoint.

Anonymous said...

Great compromise.
Anyone who says one side or the other won is not thinking clearly.
It is the responsibility of NNC to listen and come up with a solution to please all who enjoy this web site.
All sides win.

Anonymous said...

Before there is a comment on the last posting.
That was a typo. Not NNC but NCN.
Sorry

Anonymous said...

You are spineless this is the North Country, let the tree huggers run your web site

Anonymous said...

"LOL. I doubt you ever read it"

Can you also define "ASSUME", "RED HERRING", and "AD HOMINEM" for us?

In fair, rational, mature debates, we focus our attacks on the issue, not the person. Those who attack the person lack arguments that are efficacious in refuting the opposer.

So, tell us then, according to law, are a hunter's rights violated when a newspaper won't publish a picture of their "catch" on the front page? According to the law and history of the United States, is moving a picture of a dead bear to another part of a website segregation? Does moving a picture to another part of a website fall under the legal definition of censorship?

TOLERANCE: Those advocating for the picture did not show understanding, appreciation, and concern for those preferring not to view the pictures. In fact comments like "then get out of our town ..." or "go back to the City" are perfect examples of intolerance.

is anyone really going to lose sleep over the fact that the photos will be on a special page? i mean, really? i think it is a logical decision for all parties involved.

Seeing animals in this "gutted" state is an every day occurrence around here. If you don't see it on someone's car roof then you'll see it on the side of the road. honestly for those who are affraid their children will be harmed by seeing this, what are you doing letting them on the internet to have full access to everything else in the world?? This is reality, not a horror movie. Hunting season lasts a few short months and after that you aren't subject to pictures like this. Why is it that everything has to be so overly sensored these days? Quite honestly it's rediculous. No one can be protected from everything that they don't wish to see all the time. Ridiculous.

I'm opposed to photographs of politicians. Please move them to another page. Politicians are really offensive, and have no practical use whatsoever, other than to raise my blood pressure to unacceptable levels. Again, please segregate them to someplace where we don't have to look at them.

Anonymous said...

Good grief~ The comments are just unreal. It is now taken as an infringement of freedom? To have to click on a link to open a sportsman section on a web page?
It is not about freedom, or civil liberties. It's not about partially gutted, or field dressed. It's not about soldiers going off to war.
It is about propper placement. The american way of life to me, is to be able to live my life my way, raise my kids they way I see fit. And to not have to conform to the ways of my neighbors. Nor should they have to conform to my ways.
How is something like this accomplished?
By finding "middle ground" as was mentioned in other comments.
Just because it is not on the home page does not mean a thing.
And I agree, politicians should not get home page coverage either!
This boils down to a matter of choice.
In some instances, the right to choose not to have to view the car accident photo, political pic op, or latest hunting trophy needs to be offered.
While still offering a place to post said images.

'In fact' there were comments from both sides that are perfect examples. Sometimes people see only what they want to see.
The result is a decision has been made that was favorable to a minority of those who commented. And that is that. It is done.

I am as much a North Country Hunter as any poster here. I may not have shot as many deer as some of you but my friends and family all hunt. I am in DC for work and hate missing deer season. But what I hate more is being in the center of democracy and reading the ignorant an mis informed comments from fellow hunters that reference censorshp, loss of freedom and liberals taking over. The pictures are up for all to see if they want. How is that a victorY for liberal whack jobs? It isn't it is a compromise. WHile down here in nation's capitol I hear comments like the North Country is so beautiful but the people are backward and ignorant. When my fellow hunters post such misinfored references to censorship and loss of freedoms it is hard to defend my home

So much for diversity. I guess the home page photo must now pass the " Disney smell test." So keep those back yard bird feeder and sunset photos coming so we can all feel warm and fuzzy all over.

all i can say is the bear is "FULLY GUTTED" there really is NOT much blood. but those inexperience people that know crap about hunting wouldn't know that when you get a deer, bear whatever you gutt it out right there and then. DUAH! I am a proud wife of a hunter. he brings me BEARS, he brings me DEER, he brings me BIRDS, he brings me RABBITS. He keeps food on my table to feed our family. I have many trophys around the house so deal with it! And i may add one more thing it all taste reallllllllllllly good!

Old man crying in the wilderness said...

Yes, hunting is absolutely part of our heritage and survival as a species and the key word is survival here, hunting for food. Trophy hunting started with grocery stores and mans lack of need to go kill the animals himself for food. Then hunting became a sport more or less, and more animals were killed for their pelts only, proud photos, or to be stuffed in the den somewhere, all proving the some hunters worth and prowess as a man. A glorification of the kill. I have a feeling this is why so many folks seem to have objections to hunting and photos like this bear because they associate it with trophy hunting, at least this is my reasons. And not all hunters are trophy hunters as this case may show. When survival is not the issue and the kill will not be eaten, the killing seems brutal to me and insensitive to life itself. Even if the bear or kill will be eaten, I would personally feel a certain deep sadness for the bear that would overpower my rightful pride in the kill. I am a wimp perhaps. But that is just me. That is why I stopped hunting years ago even though I know I still kill to survive. In any case, the bear should be thanked for giving his life for the table and he should be killed with great respect. Some of the brutal comments that have appeared on the site supporting hunting tell me that this may not be the case with some hunters. If you are brutal towards humans you will probably be brutal towards animals as well, perhaps all to establish your sense of power and worth as a man. Perhaps some of you should actually go out and hug a tree, look deeply into the eyes of a frog, watch a butterfly flitter around in the sun, and open yourselves up to the miracle of life that you are a part of, that all living creatures are a part of. This may help you fill the void and bring you more inner peace to help you be more sensitive and respective to all creatures, bears and humans alike. And yes, I am aware that if I don't like it up here I can move.

Anonymous said...

oh come here you big tree you, let me give you a hug awww do we feel better now. oh look theres a butterfly isn't it beautiful. oh little froggie are you my frog prince? can i kiss you? frog legs are actually pretty tasty! give me a frigging break. anyways enough of the "fair dreamy land" . these day and ages people gotta do what they gotta do to survive. farmers raise there animals and kill them to eat and to sell in our stores, but thats ok really it is ok to raise them and eat them. its all part of life ! people hunt to make it through the winter. i have no problems what so ever with anyone who hunts to eat. do you wear belts, leather jackets, boots, sneakers, etc etc etc. then you are a hippocrite!! go naked cause it all comes from animals. this man in this photo did nothing wrong. all he did was support his family!

Anonymous said...

I also believe that photos of women's swimsuit sizes should not be posted on the home page. These stereotype photos which are degrading and insulting to women of all ages ....are you encouraging bulemia or anexoria, or what ?

BlacknTan said...

The photo showed a father and son and the fruits of their efforts, which is still a legal activity, and offers people untold hours of wholesome activity. A Father and Son spending time together.. What could be wrong with that??
Unfortunately, too many people are too far removed from the processing of the food we all eat, this removal somehow gives them the high moral ground.. As if the chicken bought in the grocery store was never alkive to suffer it's demise in the first place.
On the other hand, we as hunters, engaged in lawful activities, could use common sense a bit when taking pictures.. Posing a kill in a disrespectful manner with blood and guts dripping is just not good press.. It serves to turn the general public, and the folks without an opinion pro or con, against us. This can only hurt us in future generations..
We need to clean up our own act!
I was not offended, but I can understand why some were..

I posted a comment on a different section about liking the picture. I do not hunt, but my husband, father, brother do. But, because you have let the city people around here win, I am vowing to not use your site as my homepage anymore. I will not post adds in your paper anymore, I will not even come back to check anything. I am very upset by the few people that whine about this issue now get their own way, just like they do with everything else around here. So NCN, congrats on making hunters feel like minorities. You win, city people win. This makes me so proud to live in the North Country.

My opinion here is there is a lot of wasted energy here going on here (Overdramatization. The perfect solution here is the idea of a seperate web site for those who are interested in hunting. It's not segregation. Every person is unique like a set of fingerprints. We don't all have the same likes and dislikes, values, and goals. God forbid this would be a boring world. Not everyone practices the same religion, some people practice no religion. That's their free will. Hunters have the free will to hunt, however, I can understand that people would be offended to have to look at something graphic if they are uncomfortable. Me myself I do not hunt because I can not kill an animal. My husband is a hunter and that's fine, I just avoid the graphics. As long as a hunter uses the meat from which he kills, that's fine, it's those psychos that kill to kill, and those people shouldn't be hunting, they should be getting a psych. evaluation because that is plain and simple torture if they have no justification for killing an animal. I just want to add that comments made to the father in the picture that are negative should not be his fault. He doesn't control the set up of this web-site. A seperate hunting site is a great idea.

I apologize that this may be the saddest thing you have read, but it's the cold-hard reality of the real world. I am one of the biggest animal lovers myself. I have gone to great extents to rescue animals. I love animals. I don't hunt and don't want no part of hunting. I believe yes a seperate link for hunters is an excellent idea, absolutely. Once again i am not against hunting, as long as the meat is utilized. Hunting just for the kill and to disregard a living creature's life is a different story. That's my point.

All of the people who are complaining about NCN's solution need to grow up and stop whining. No one won, and no one lost. They found a compromise in an effort to make all readers happy. They attempted to satisfy EVERYONE to some extent by continuing to post the pictures but not putting them up where people have to see them if they don't care to. And if hunting is soooo important to all of you then why are you spending so much time sitting inside on your computers? Grow up and get over it.

Afterthoughts:

Had a bear under my deck last Christmas. My son and I spotted a young cub coming out and climbing a huge hemlock just a few feet away. I figured the cub was pretty harmless if we left it alone, but perhaps Momma Bear and another cub were not far away. That might have been interesting should Momma Bear have come out and spotted us humans. It being Christmas, DEC was not interested in tagging these creatures - at least they didn't return my many phone calls.

I honestly don't know how or where this nonsense started that one must please every person, every group, every political or religious persuasion just because one or another might be offended. No person can please all of the people all of the time. If I had given in to my child's every whim or whine from the day he was born, I would have raised a twisted and spoiled child who would never have been able to be a credit to his family or his community. I fear we do the same when we kneel before the endless complainers, begging forgiveness for yet another alleged slight to someone's sensibilities. The great, eternally politically incorrect Al Capp called them S.W.I.N.E. (Students Wildly Indignant About Nearly Everything) a half century ago. We've slid backward on a slippery slope since then, in my opinion, to the point where we are paralyzed by the meer thought of offending someone.

Back when Thaler's meat packing plant was on the Potsdam-Canton Road, I took some cattle in for slaughter. The process of turning a living animal into meat for the kitchen table was quick and humane, but necessarily brutal. It was an essential part of the cycle of life and death. I think that a photograph of a field dressed bear or other animal reminds us that we are all part of this same cycle of life and death. Some of us, perhaps, do not want to be so reminded.

Some of the comments on the original link with the photo of the dead bear suggested that if people don't like hunting they should move away from the North Country. After reading all of the posts on here, I am seriously considering it. I am a vegetarian because I don't like eating animals and I love organic products because they help keep our beautiful earth in better shape (think those animals would be around to hunt if it wasn't?), and I also don't like poisoning myself with pesticides. Because of this I am judged. Aren't we taught in kindergarten to not judge or be prejudiced against others because they are different from us? I plan on starting a family in the next few years and I am seriously wondering whether or not I want to raise my children in an area that is filled with people who are so ignorant, judgemental, and small-minded. While I have my own beliefs, I still respect the beliefs and opinions of others and I stupidly assumed that the majority of people did the same. I guess I overestimated the people of the North Country.

It is not a case of having a seperate place for hunting pics so it is fair. It is a case of overwhelming majority of the people wanting it to stay on the front page. So tell me how that is fair??? IT IS NOT!!!All the few whiners had to do was click on something else or scroll down a couple of inchs but apparently that was to much to ask. With a 2/3 to 1/3 poll(thats if the same few weren't RE-posting to bollster the poll)it should have stayed where it was hands down no question!Sad,sad, sad!

Disgusted, we would love for you to move away from the north country , you should move to the city and eat organic vegetables all day while you breath in unknown amounts of smog and pollutants. Aren't we taught in kindegarten, haha who uses that for an argument???? Go back to school you tree hugging hippy

First of all, I must say that I am neither offended nor am I in awe of the photo posted. When I saw it, I didn't really have a reaction (until I read the comments)- therefore I am not one of those "socialist, liberal whack jobs", nor am I a "redneck hick". I find it hard to believe that people are still complaining about the matter. Ok- there was a field dressed/gutted bear on the front page. Some people were offended (and northcountrynow.com has certainly chosen the correct path on addressing the issue) and others enjoyed the photo (they will be just as able to see more just like the bear with time). The problem is solved; is complaining on and on really making you feel better? I simply do not find the need for name calling, everyone is different and everyone has the right to feel comfortable surfing the web.

A solution is found - the decision made. We could have gotten further ahead if we worked together instead of bashing each others' ideals and beliefs. Why the personal attacks? No one is judging the hunter - just the principle. So it looks like all sides lose because we couldn't work together to find common ground. Let's learn from this so this doesn't happen time and time again.
